Designed by D3 Architects, the Centre de la Memoire des Guyanes (Memory Centre in French Guiana) aims to give a symbol to the natural heritage of the French Overseas Department located in South America and be a place where physical and symbolic elements merge seamlessly. The building is arranged around a central storage core, and wrapped in a series of layers – a double concrete skin housing most of the building's functions and a protecting skin made of slatted balata wood. where
